Hi! I’m Natalia. I’m Natty Cakes and I love seriously satisfying sweets. Mediocre desserts irritate me. Dry cakes should be abolished. Dessert should be decadent and totally delicious. Otherwise, what’s the point?
I love delicious homemade sweets, but I’m also a bit lazy. Yes, I will make almost everything from scratch but no I will not make anything too fussy or complicated (ie. I will lovingly toast my nuts, but no I will not use fondant). Flavour over beauty always! I hope that this makes my recipes approachable for home bakers of all skill levels and energy levels.
I love food blogs and trying new recipes but I don’t love reading long-winded blog posts. At Natty Cakes Bakes, I will be as clear and concise as possible when sharing my recipes. No autobiographies here. Just really great recipes.
I am not a professional baker. I learned most of what I know about baking from my mom. I have tried countless recipes from baking blogs and cookbooks (thank goodness for the public library) which has helped me improve as a baker and collect a great deal of excellent recipes worth sharing. Desserts are best shared with friends, as are the recipes that inspired them!
